Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 14, 2018, students and teachers across the country are participating in a peaceful protest in the fashion of a school Walk Out. Honoring the lives of the 17 people killed in the Stoneman Douglas Massacre on the same day last month, the Walk Out not only remembers the lives lost, but also adds pressure to politicians to pass stricter gun laws so something like this never happens again. The students and teachers at Stoneman Douglas have channeled their grief to revolution to ensure parents, teachers, and students never have to experience the trauma they did on February 14th. The irony of Valentine's Day and Ash Wednesday falling on February 14th this year adds insult to injury. A day of love and repentance twisted into a day of nothing but horror and fear motivates the involved participants moreso to have their voices heard.
